Homemade 3D Christmas Stars in a 2 x 3

How to make a Christmas star out of paper or cardboard?

In the New Testament the story is told of how the Star of Bethlehem guided the three wise men to the birthplace of the Child God; That is why it is one of the most used symbols around the world to represent the Christmas spirit.

Here we show you the step by step so that you can make this beautiful ornament yourself. We calculate the price with 1/8 of cardboard and acquiring the scissors, but if you already have the materials in your home, it will be free.

Materials

  • Sheets of paper or cardboard cut into square shapes.

Time required

Process

1. Fold in half

Take a square-shaped piece of paper or cardboard and fold it in half. Go over the fold with the scissors to mark it.

2. Turn a corner

Fold the top right corner down. Find about half of the fold you just made and go over it with your scissors, without scoring completely.

3. Fold the other corner

Fold the top left corner up and go over the middle of the fold as well, so that when you unfold the sheet you see an X.

4. Fold towards the X

Fold the lower left corner by matching the point with the X you marked on the paper. Go over the fold with the handle of the scissors to mark it well.

5. Fold out

Take that same point that faces the X and fold it out, taking care that the fold starts exactly from the lower left corner. Mark with scissors.

6. Fold in

Fold the bottom left corner so that there is a triangle pointing down. Review.

7. Flip

You should have a figure like the one in the image. Flip it over to work with the bottom side, which looks like a triangle with the point cut diagonally.

8. Make the final fold

Take the diagonally cut end and fold it over again to make a sharper triangle.

9. Cut

Flip the paper over. You will see that several layers of paper appear on the reverse. Cut on the top but not on the edge, but a little inside the visible triangle.

10. Unfold and fold

Unfold the star. Go over the folds of the ends up and the entrances down. Your star will be left with volume!

Now, if what you want is to make a star that fills your little tree with light, you can use the previous step-by-step as a base to make a much bigger and stronger one, applying paint and glitter. Watch the following video tutorial and give free rein to your imagination.
