1. Youngest of four brothers from a simple family, yang was born and raised in a poor village in Henan Province. Intelligent but introverted, he dropped out of school at 17 and left home to work and live on small jobs – mainly in rural areas of the country.
2. There are not many records about his childhood, but the reports of relatives who now live in the USA shed light on his life. yang. Since he was a boy, he liked to draw and write bloody stories involving murders. Some of these doodles would be movie ideas that the Chinese would make in the future.
3. yang passed through four provincial towns, where he committed petty thefts under false names such as Wang Ganggang, yang Zhia and yang Liu. He was eventually arrested in 1988 and sentenced to spend three years in a forced labor camp. In 1996, at the age of 28, yang He was arrested again, this time for attempted rape. He was taken to the police station, where he ended up confessing his atrocities. He was convicted of 67 deaths, 23 rapes and five serious assaults.
