Betrayal is not cool, but it is undeniable that it happens around. There are those who don’t care about that – and still take advantage of jumping someone else’s fence to make some money. Proof of this is the Canadian website Ashley Madison, launched in 2001 and with a simple proposal: to make people find lovers.
The site has 60 million members spread across more than 50 countries – Brazil is the second with the highest number of users. The objective, in the words of the company, is to offer a safe environment for extramarital affairs. Or not so safe: A breach in 2015 exposed more than 37 million accounts, a problem that resulted in $11 million in damages. And many divorces.
Even with the recent controversy, the site is still active and decided to take advantage of the subject of the moment: game of Thrones.
The HBO series arrives in its final season next Sunday, April 14th. But amid questions about the outcome of the saga, such as who will survive the final battle, among others, Ashley Madison prefers to be concerned with a more “important” question: which character would you have an affair with?
So it is. The research, carried out in Brazil, had 1011 users and reached a verdict: Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) leads the ranking of preference for both men (24%) and women (20%).
In the list of women, Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster Waldau) and Robb Stark (Richard Madden) are tied for second place, with 12% of the preference. In men’s, the podium is composed of Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Davos Seaworth (Liam Cunningham), with 11% and 9%, respectively.
Sir Davos is even one of the highlights of the research. The fisherman who ended up becoming a royal adviser is not even one of the main characters, but he appears in both lists, and is better placed in the men’s ranking than in the women’s ranking, in which he occupies the sixth position.

As if the rankings weren’t enough, here’s some more data: according to the survey, 39% of respondents will watch the end of game of Thrones with their spouse, but 21% will be with their extramarital partner – proof that adultery is not exclusive to the series.
