WordArt Definition

WordArt is a utility within the Microsoft Word document editor that allows the user to create styled text with different special effects such as textures, borders, and many other manipulations that are not available through standard text font formatting.

For example, it is possible to create shadows, rotate, warp and stretch the shape of a text.

WordArt has 30 different preset styles available, although it is possible to customize them using tools available on the WordArt and Drawing toolbars.

It is also available in Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.

In Office 2007 WordArt was given a complete overhaul in Excel and PowerPoint, with new styles, effects, and other features. These new styles were included in Word 2010, but most were removed in Word 2013.
