Ypozane for dogs: effects, side effects & alternatives

Ypozane for dogs is a veterinary medicinewhich is administered exclusively to the canine lords of creation.

Because this is a drug that helps with benign prostate enlargement in male dogs.

The following lines tell you what you need to know about the use, dosage and side effects of Ypozane for dogs.

Ypozane for dogs: what it is and what it is used for

Ypozane for dogs contains the active ingredient osaterone acetate. This contributes to that the prostate, also called the prostate gland, shrinks.

Osaterone acetate is what is known as an anti-androgen.

It prevents the formation of the male sex hormone testosterone, which is then no longer absorbed by the prostate.

The resulting reduction in size of the prostate gland reduces additional symptoms in male dogs, such as problems with defecation and urination.

Through the testosterone inhibition, Ypozane can also contribute to the fact that particularly lovesick male dogs appear a little more relaxed here.

Ypozane for males is available in four different osaterone acetate concentrations: 1.875 mg, 3.75 mg, 7.5 mg and 15 mg.

Ypozane is given to males via a small round tablet.

IMPORTANT

An application and dosage at will is always to be avoided. Only the veterinarian decides on the purpose of administering the medication as well as the correct dosage and duration.

Incidentally, Ypozane for dogs is not a drug that is used as a so-called chemical castration.

Ypozane does not affect fertility or sperm quality. Information that should be of particular interest to breeders.

In addition, Ypozane has a long-term effect in dogs.

The active ingredient osaterone acetate still has a positive effect on the prostate 5 months after the last dose of the tablet.

After these 5 months, the dog should be checked by the veterinarian. This is also where it is decided whether another Ypozane treatment is necessary.
