A train ride can be very pleasant for humans and dogs. However, this requires a dog that is used to train travel and good preparation.
Before you consider taking your dog by train, you should gradually get him used to it. Remember that the train stations are teeming with people and the dog is confronted with many strange impressions: loudspeaker announcements, trains arriving and departing and hectic hustle and bustle.
Was your dog used to the situation as a puppy or is it a relaxed four-legged friend? If not, carefully introduce him to the situation.
Start with «walks» through the station halls. Let him get used to the background noise, watch the trains together, hop on a train for a moment and then get off again. If you notice that your four-legged friend feels safer in the area, you can dare a first ride.
At first, choose a short route and observe the animal. If the dog accepts the ride, then try a longer train ride next time. If necessary, get the help of an experienced dog trainer if you don’t want to do the training on your own.
Is your dog trainable? Then you can start preparing for your trip.
