How to remove spiders at home
Removing spiders at home is a task that, except for huge infestations, we have the possibility of doing ourselves. The next guidelines are easy:
- Clean: we must act mainly in places where dust accumulates and in rooms with little use. Spiders generally do not like to interact with much larger animals, so they prefer to settle in relaxed places. Pay attention to the guards, brooms and cabinets where we keep clothes and belongings from another season. Naturally, we must remove the cobwebs that we observe.
- It prevents storing firewood in the home: it is common to get spiders hidden among the logs. If you have a porch or a hut outside for this purpose, store firewood there and bring into the dwelling only what will be consumed.
- Use caution when bringing pots and garden items indoors: If you’re bringing plants or items indoors that have been left outdoors during the warm seasons, check them carefully.
- Eliminate food sources: as we mentioned, spiders are carnivorous, so they could be feeding on ants and other recurring insects in the home. Gel insecticides are useful for getting rid of ants and other vile insects. To systematically remove flies we have the possibility of using insecticides in granulated baits, which like and suppress them.
- Use insecticides: When we observe a spider, the best thing to do is to use a spray insecticide for spiders. Always avoid crushing them by hand to avoid stinging or skin irritation from the venom. If you try to crush it with a shoe, you run the risk of it escaping (many spiders are very fast) or jumping you (some are belligerent when threatened).
What pests do spiders manage?
One of the most important factors to consider is that spiders are not harmful to humans. On the contrary, they fulfill the biological function of stopping essential pests, since they are the natural predators of certain insects that are generally much more invasive and uncomfortable for humans.
