THE FORCE AWAKENS
The story of Samson, the hairy strongman, is filled with women, revenge and carnage.

The prophecy
Son of a barren woman whose pregnancy was announced by an angel, Samson was one of the judges of Bible, sent by God to deliver the Israelites from sin. At the time, they were subjugated by Philistine polytheists. Samson married a Philistine and, at the party, killed 30 people – just because of a bet. Then, out of revenge, his wife was killed.

look at the hair
Nervous, Samson retaliated for his wife’s death by single-handedly murdering a thousand Philistines. His fame as a strong man spread and he charmed another Philistine, Delilah. But she betrayed him and accepted 1,100 pieces of silver to discover the reason for the man’s strength. Without resisting the onslaughts, Samsão revealed: the hair. Delilah took advantage while he was sleeping and cut his hair. The hero was arrested and blinded

Terrorist
The Philistines held a feast in the temple of the god Dagon in Gaza to offer a sacrifice, and took Samson prisoner to amuse themselves at his expense. tell the Bible that the house was crowded with common people and nobles and princes (only on the roof there were 3 thousand people). Samson, chained, asked a guard to place him between two columns. He asked God for help to take revenge (again!) and pushed the columns that supported the temple. The bombing killed everyone present, including Samson.

A lion a day
Super strength and fantastic talents aside, Samson is still suspected to have existed – or at least that since antiquity he has been a known character. A coin from the 11th century BC. C., found in Israel, shows a man fighting a lion – a possible reference to the episode in which Samson was attacked by a lion and destroyed it with his bare hands, “as if he were killing a goat”, according to the Bible
