Asteria In Greek mythology, Asteria (from the Hellene ???????, ‘star’) was the name of at least three different individuals: Asteria (daughter of Ceo). The Titaness, daughter of Coeus and Phoebe.
The Greek word for constellations was katasterismoi. Of all of them, the 12 signs whose paths crossed from sunrise to sunset were popular as zodiakos (the zodiac) or zodiakos kyrklos (circle of small animals). The constellations, as depicted in Greek mythology, were primarily heroes and beasts favored by Zeus and other Olympian gods who were given a space between the stars as a memorial to their exploits. They were considered semi-divine spirits, sentient living entities that traversed the heavens. The primary sources for the mythology accompanying the constellations were the lost astronomical poems of Hesiod and Pherecides, and subsequent projects by Pseudo-Eratosthenes, Aratos, and Hyginus.

The island of Delos and Asteria, goddess of the stars
The name Delos means «rising from the water,» a reference to the seabed that, under the protection of the unborn Apollo, rose to root the island. There was no agriculture on Delos, as it was virtually barren, but it became rich and celebrated as the birthplace of Apollo, with a temple built on the island for the god. On the island, gods such as: Asteria, goddess of the stars in Greek paintings, with jugs along with the rest of Delos deities: Leto, Artemis and Apollo were highly revered.
Several of the much older names of Delos also include Hekatean Cynethus, meaning Isle of the Dog, and Piriyple, Isle of Fire, for fire was first discovered there. The women of Delos also worshiped an old goddess Brizo (dream) who could also be associated with Asteria goddess of the stars, being a goddess of prophetic dreams and also in common with Hekate, protector of sailors, sailors and fishermen.
Church
The stars also mention the leaders of the church. “A huge sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of 12 stars” (Revelation 12:1). Commentators have linked the stars cited in this verse with the 12 apostles. In Biblical times, the multitude used the stars to guide them on their journeys, especially at sea as the stars were permanent. Also, the stars in the Bible represent divine leadership. The Lord sends messengers to help advise people on their spiritual journeys. These spiritual messengers are uniquely essential in times of trial.
Some mistakenly use astrology to divine the future and help them make resolutions in their lives. Astronomy, which deals with the celestial elements, space, and the physical cosmos, is a valid branch of science. Astrology, on the other hand, is the study of the movements and relative situations of the celestial bodies that are interpreted to have predominance in human subjects and the natural planet, it is a contraindicated evil. The Bible warns against this (Deuteronomy 18:10-14). For this reason, God commanded the children of Israel not to worship the «host of heaven» (Deuteronomy 4:19). He identifies astrologers among those who will be lost on Judgment Day (Isaiah 47:13-14).
