March. According to the IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics), of the 15,987,931 Brazilians born between 1999 and 2004, 1,570,345 (about 9% of the total) were born in March. If every month had the same number of births, around 1.33 million (or 8.3% of the total) people would have been born in each of the 12 months over the six years analyzed. In that period, the year with the most birthdays in March was 1999: no less than 270,864 Brazilians were born in the third month of that year! You must be doing the math to know what time of year it is nine months before March to imagine the reason for so many “orders for the stork”. The answer is June: cold month, Valentine’s Day… What’s your bet?
In addition to being the champion of birthdays, March is also the month in which babies are least “ordered”
