What is the best cell phone operator in Colombia?

According to an international publication, Claro is the best operator in Colombia.

For its «continuous commitment to the social development of the country and the presentation of accessible and competitive services», the British magazine The Business Year (TBY) highlighted the cell phone company Claro as the «Mobile Operator of the Year».

After presenting the award to the company, Selene Miramontes, country manager of TBY -a research firm and publisher of annual publications in the economic field-, assured that the award «represents and proclaims everywhere the international recognition that its achievements have drawn from distinguished business leaders throughout Latin America and the world, and its role in the transformation of the Colombian economy“.

In his opinion, Thanks to the reinvestment made by Claro, “a 70% increase in profits” has been registered., related to points of sale and customer service. In that sense, the magazine detailed that the coverage of the operator reaches more than «250 municipalities by cable.»

Juan Carlos Archila Cabal, president of Claro, received the award. The businessman stated: “Thank you for the recognition given to Claro for this award. Thanks to our team, in 2014 more Colombians stayed connected, with the largest 4G network in the country and a proposal to include Internet and speed for all. All this has been worth the effort, and can be summed up in the name of our social responsibility program: ‘Claro por Colombia’”.

It should be remembered that the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce sanctioned Claro for committing restrictive practices of free competition and activate the international call roaming service to 12 people without their consent. Also, the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies has investigated the operator for presenting failures in the service provided to Colombians.
