For many people, the Holy Spirit can move them to tears; for others, tears seldom or never come, which is okay.
«Joy that wipes away tears and comfort in mourning» (Part VI – Pentecost Retreat) Download
Calling the Blessed Spirit with the name of «Consolador» takes on particular importance in these moments, because exactly in the moments of tribulation and suffering the Blessed Spirit is present. There is a time to mourn and a time to lament (cf. Qo 3,4). In other words, a part of our life, and if we observe people who are unaware of such reactions, it seems to us that they have no heart. Jesus himself wept for Lazarus (cf. Jn 11,35), and he wept even more for Jerusalem, since he did not recognize the happy hour of his coming (cf. Lc 19,41). Rachel also wept for her children (Jer 31,35), and this scene is repeated when Herod has the little ones killed (cf. Mt 2,18)…
Tears = Good Sign
They have proof of the work of the Blessed Spirit in their hearts, in such a way that they have become tender, which means that they are truly alive.
Being now a part of the kingdom, tears seem superfluous, but the truth of the Catholic today is that he lives for happiness, but tied to a body of death. He longs for spiritual things, he was welcomed back into his father’s house, but he is generally longing to go back to stuff his belly with the carob that pigs eat; Sometimes you even try again! wretched me! The state of the natural man is a seared conscience2 and a heart of stone3, but the moment we come to Christ, our hearts are made flesh and our consciences are softened. The testimony of every new faithful is that his spiritual senses begin to awaken, he is much more attentive to things that previously went unnoticed: what previously did not attract his attention now repels him, what he understood as habitual and common becomes provocative . Blessed are those who cry! The moment they have proof of the work of the Holy Spirit in their hearts to such a level that they become sensitive, it means that they are truly alive. It does not happen naturally, but there are specific reasons why a man moved by the Blessed Spirit would cry.

What is resting in the Spirit? Would this be a concern for refresh servers? In this sense, I share my experience as a servant of the Renewal and my reflection as a theologian. These comments apply to each and every one of the strange phenomena, of which the rest in the Spirit belongs to the most common.
My experience (and that of many others) is that the moment we pray in faith to receive the Holy Spirit much more intensely, profound things can begin to happen in people, which can manifest themselves in laughter. , cries or moans. These are natural human responses to the overflowing presence and happiness of the Holy Spirit. Over the years, I’ve learned that there are often deep wounds in people, even those who supposedly appear to be good mature Catholics. I remember how a servant who was organizing a meeting began to wail; little by little he came out knowing that this server had suffered serious abuse in his childhood. That unfortunate memory was repressed for several years. Today, more and more people are emerging from homes with little or no nurturing parenting experience. Some learned to confront life and others did not. The latter of course are injured, but the former may appear normal and balanced. But the moment we pray for the profound work of the Blessed Spirit to occur, these things begin to appear. In my opinion, this is a good way to understand the positive results of resting in the Spirit. Rest in the Spirit happens at the moment when the person being prayed for at the moment cannot stand or sit, and falls to the ground and rests on his back. In most situations, resting in the Spirit is very peaceful.
Persuade God to show you his presence
You cannot seduce God to show you his manifest presence when and how you want, no matter how hard you try or how loyal you can be. God makes appearance only on his terms, according to his wisdom and purposes.
But you can prepare yourself to locate yourself with his presence later by making your relationship with God your number one priority in life and also capitalizing on it on a regular basis (for example, through prayer, Bible reading, and service). so that you get closer to God and also invite him to get closer to you. Cultivating your life for the existence of God is not so much about your effort, but rather about responding to God’s ideas of love and happiness so that you are in the right place, at the right moment and in the right condition of soul. at the moment when God makes an appearance.
