What are the meanings of the symbols on the 1 dollar bill?

There are several icons on the one dollar bill. They represent concepts such as war, peace, Congress and the original 13 US colonies.

The symbology of the ballot is usually a source of discussion and mystery. There is evidence linking its design to the founding history of the country. But there are also those who believe that everything there is based on Freemasonry, the society that 14 of the 44 American presidents were part of.

Among them, Thomas Jefferson. He was part of the committee that approved, in 1872, the great national seal, which is on the left side of the ballot. Another member of that same committee was Benjamin Franklin, one of the heroes of American independence – and also a notorious Freemason.

The Pyramid Riddle

The date on the base is 1776 in Roman numerals – that’s the year of US independence. The construction is made up of 13 steps, which represent the 13 colonies at the time of the founding of the country. And the top is not finished to symbolize that the state is under constant construction.

Secret Authors?

The Latin phrase “Novus ordo seclorum” can be translated as “The new order of the ages” and is supposedly conferred on the Illuminati. This secret organization, which many believe controls the course of history, really existed, but in the past. It was founded in the 18th century in Germany, but dismantled shortly afterwards by Prince Karl Theodor.

ready for war

The bald eagle, typical of North America, is the country’s symbol animal. In its left claw are 13 olive leaves, indicating the desire for peace (it is in this direction that the bird’s head looks). But, in the other claw, there are 13 arrows. The message is clear: the country is ready to fight if necessary.

numerical obsession

There are 13 stars, representing the initial colonies. Together they form a six-pointed star, another Freemason symbol. The shield has 13 vertical stripes (the vertical ones represent Congress). And there are two 13-letter Latin mottos: “Epluribus unum” (“Of all, one”) and “Annuit coeptis” (“God has collaborated with our endeavor”), whose O and E are merged into a single character.

the color of wealth

The banknote is made with a special type of paper, composed of 75% cotton and 25% linen. And it’s green because this pigment was widely available at the time of its creation and resisted chemical or physical alteration well. Furthermore, research indicated that the public subconsciously associated this tone with strong government credit.

It has to be worth it

In the note’s illustration, the bird’s right wing has 32 feathers, which would represent the 32 levels of Scottish Freemasonry. On the left side, there is an extra feather. The extra fluff would mean a kind of bonus that can be achieved by good service. The nine feathers on the tail would refer to the nine steps of York Freemasonry.

Curiosities:

  • The fact that the shield is not being held by the eagle means that the State can support itself.
  • The dollar can withstand being bent 4,000 times forward and 4,000 times backward before finally tearing apart.
  • Like the pyramid, the «all-seeing eye» at the top is a Freemason icon. It means that Freemasons are always being watched.
