They say that there is strength in unity and in matters of natural phenomena this belief comes true. Many of the natural events (if not all) are the result of the union of various elements present on the planet. Tornadoes, tsunamis, eruptions and many more are caused by the interaction between various forces of creation.
When these phenomena are present, few are the human beings who stop to admire them, since the risk of succumbing to nature is imminent. However, there are a few who, amazed by the magnitude of the force and energy, see an opportunity to capture something unique.
This is exactly what Chilean photographer Francisco Negroni does. The incredible images of him are the result of extreme weather conditions and a bit of luck. Among his most famous and valuable works are his spectacular long-exposure shots of erupting volcanoes.
A volcanic eruption of energy
That was how he discovered through the images the fantastic spectacle caused by the eruptions. A mix of dirty thunderstorms was revealed, that is, lightning that is visible in the volcanic plume of this event following the collision of ash, rock, and lava ejections.
A mesmerizing static electricity that under the lens of a camera becomes a complete revelation. Well, with the naked eye it is difficult to capture the coming and going of all the energy that is produced inside a volcano.
There is no doubt, the images speak for themselves and although it seems like a natural setting that is impossible to observe with the naked eye, technology allows us to decipher and immortalize what happens in seconds. For Negroni, a 2008 eruption in Chile was the phenomenon that prompted him to try to capture the union of forces in nature.
Other photographers focus on tornadoes and storms, while others focus on the immense force of the sea or land. These photographs remind us that the force of nature is always present. And that at any second its elements decide to move to create scenarios that few of us can imagine.
