Despite being a food with high carbohydrates, the hamburger is one of the most tempting and succulent dishes. At some point we may feel that inevitable craving for a hamburger: giant, succulent, hot, with gourmet bread or the typical one with sesame seeds on top.
Currently, we can choose between numerous versions: with beef or lamb, vegetables, cheeses or soy. Each of these options offers to satisfy our whim of the moment. Which is why we share five burger recipes that, free of meat, are a gastronomic gem:
black bean burger
Preparation time: 40 minutes
Proportion: for 4 people
Ingredients: 1 can of black beans; 1 egg, ½ yellow onion in pieces; 3 garlic cloves, crushed; ½ green pepper in pieces; 1 tablespoon of cumin; ¼ teaspoon of salt; ¼ teaspoon of pepper; 1 tablespoon garlic chili sauce; ½ cup of bread crumbs; buns.
Instructions: Preheat the oven to 200°C. Mix the beans with the egg until you get a thick paste. Combine the onion, garlic, and green pepper in a food processor, and let it run for 30 seconds. Pour the ingredients into a mixing bowl. Then add the cumin, pepper, chili garlic sauce and bread crumbs. And until the mixture is homogeneous, take a few pieces to shape a circle. Each circle, cook it for 10 minutes. Serve it with the seasonings of your choice.
chickpea burger
Preparation time: 40 minutes
Proportion: for 4 people
Ingredients: 1 can of chickpeas; 1 red bell pepper, cut and seeded; 1 carrot, in pieces; 3 garlic cloves, crushed; 2 tablespoons cilantro, chopped; 1 teaspoon of chili powder; ¼ teaspoon of salt; ¼ teaspoon of pepper; 1 tablespoon of tahini; 1 tablespoon of sesame oil; 1/3 cup of bread crumbs; buns.
Instructions: Preheat the oven to 200°C. Knead the chickpeas until you get a thick paste. Combine the bell pepper, garlic, and cilantro in a food processor, and let it run for 30 seconds. Pour the ingredients into a mixing bowl. Add salt and pepper, chili, tahini, sesame oil, and bread crumbs. And until the mixture is homogeneous, take a few pieces to shape a circle. Each circle, cook it for 10 or 15 minutes. Serve it with the seasonings of your choice.
Lentil Burger
Preparation time: 1 hour
Proportion: for 4 to 6 people
Ingredients: 1 cup lentils, uncooked; 2 ¼ cup vegetable broth; 2 garlic cloves, 1 red onion, chopped; 1 carrot, chopped; 2 tablespoons of cumin; 1 teaspoon of chili; ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon; 1/3 cup of oats; 3 tablespoons of tomato paste; 2 tablespoons of olive oil; salt and pepper; buns.
Instructions: Boil the lentils over low heat for 15 minutes in a saucepan with vegetable broth. Once the broth has cooled, drain the water. In a food processor, knead the lentils until they form a thick paste. Place the lentil paste in a bowl, where you will add the garlic, onion, carrot, oats, tomato paste, cumin and paprika. Mix until making a homogeneous paste. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. Take a few pieces to form a circle. Each circle, cook it for 10 or 15 minutes. Serve it with the seasonings of your choice.
Lentil and Portobello Burger
Preparation time: 1 hour
Proportion: for 4 to 6 people
Ingredients: 2/3 cup lentils, uncooked; 1 chopped carrot; 2 cups of vegetable broth; 2 tablespoons of chopped parsley; 2 tablespoons of olive oil + 1 teaspoon; 1 portobello mushroom, cleaned; ½ cup onion, peeled and chopped; 3 garlic cloves, crushed; 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning; 1 teaspoon of pepper; ½ teaspoon of salt and paprika; 2 tablespoons of sunflower seeds; 2/3 cups of bread crumbs; buns.
Instructions: Boil the lentils over low heat for 15 minutes in a saucepan with vegetable broth. Add the carrot. Once the broth has cooled, drain the water. In a food processor, knead the lentils until they form a thick paste. Heat the olive oil in a pan, where the onion and garlic will be fried; and, eventually, the fungus. Add the Italian seasoning and stir for one minute. Place the lentil paste in a bowl, where you will add the paprika, sunflower seeds, salt, pepper, breadcrumbs and the other vegetables. Mix until making a homogeneous paste. Take a few pieces to form a circle. Each circle, cook it, with olive oil, for 10 or 15 minutes.
mushroom burger
Preparation time: 1 hour
Proportion: for 4 people
Ingredients: 3 cups of mushrooms; 1 green bell pepper, cut into small pieces; ½ chopped onion; 2 tablespoons of olive oil + 1 teaspoon; 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning; ¼ teaspoon of salt; ¼ teaspoon of pepper; ½ cup of bread crumbs; ½ cup of oats; 2 eggs; 2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar; 1 package of vegetarian dry sauce; 4 tablespoons of sunflower seeds; buns.
Instructions: Heat the two tablespoons of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the three cups of mushrooms, the bell pepper and the onion. Sauté the vegetables until the mushrooms have acquired a brown hue and a liquid. Add Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Remove them from the fire. In a bowl, combine the vegetables, oats, breadcrumbs, and eggs until you have a thick paste. Add the dry sauce and the sunflower seeds. Refrigerate it for 30 minutes. In the pan, add another teaspoon of olive oil and fry the dough that you just took out of the fridge. Mix until making a homogeneous paste. Take a few pieces to form a circle. Each circle, cook it, with olive oil, for 10 or 15 minutes.
