Beyond worn-out romanticisms, the truth is that dancing is perhaps the ritual that most reconnects us with the earth. This statement has very good arguments behind it, including anthropological ones. And it is that dancing we can feel the firm ground under our feet, and by letting ourselves rumble on her grows an awareness of inhabit the present. It is not for nothing that so many cultures have been formed from dance, preserving it as an unquestionable essence.
The first edition of Earth Beat Festivalin Mexico City, is an excellent example, and a moment to check the strength of the dance and the rhythms.
Tierra Beat will take place in Parque Bicentenario,
on April 27 and 28, in Mexico City.
This festival will have as fundamental axes the environmental actionon the one hand, and the rockthe reggae and electronics on the other. Among the bands that make up the cartel are Hollie Cook, Marc Romboy, Los Aguas Aguas, Sonido Gallo Negro, Zombies in Miami and Cass McCombs.
There will also be other cultural events, such as theatre, cinema and videomapping, as well as talks and workshops on the environment and eco-activism. And as if that were not enough, access will be free.
Since it is its first edition, Tierra Beat is likely to become a musical benchmark in CDMX, as well as a meeting place for activists and environmentalists of all kinds. For now, it is a fact that will make us dance with exquisite rhythms, reconnecting with the original and linking us with the others.
But it is worth feeding this festival with our presence, to make it the venue that it can become. Therefore, here we leave you the poster with the bands and schedules per day, so you don’t make plans and go this April 27 and 28 to Tierra Beat:
