Pyramids, world vision

For the Aztecs, using this type of structures was transcendental, as they were linked to their worldview and religious practices. The particular shape of the properties referred to the mountains, source of water and fertility, and abode of the ancient spirits. Most of them followed a general pattern with a platform, a double long staircase and balustrades on the sides of the steps. In addition, blocks of sculpted stone and skulls were used to decorate the platform and the end of the balustrades. The parties had plateaus on which a temple or the slaughter stone of a temple was built.
