What we see can often be different from what it really is. Our way of perceiving the environment changes according to personal visions. For Samir Belhamra –visual artist– the imaginary is a fundamental part of his landscape work and that is how he developed his new project: the smell of silence.
How to make tranquility and silence visible?
Let’s think about what makes us feel calm, those things that we imagine to calm our mind. What we managed to put together in thought is what Samir managed to capture in a photograph with digital art.

Dreams are conjured into images that are based on real world landscapes and soon after are mixed with Samir’s artistic approaches to bring life to life. surreal landscapes stopped in time and without trace of human beings.
Relaxing patterns like a moon in a starry sky accompanied by a ship lost in a deserted land; an immense forest reflected in a calm river, and others beautiful landscapes bluish colors that awaken the serenity of the mind and describe Samir’s vision of silence.
It is enough to look at nature to find beautiful landscapes that worthily represent silence, just as there are other landscapes that awaken the sound imagination. A touch of realism and creativity allows these meditation scenes to rise to other levels of the soul.
All with the purpose of uniting the visually real with our deepest natural dreams. A few minutes of reflection and a lost gaze in the depths of nature turn our mind towards a well of imaginary scenes of extraordinary shades to find our place in the universe.
And you, how many landscapes have you imagined today?
