Few are those who dedicate their lives to exploring the ends of the planet, but those who do have given us extraordinary visions of their visit to the most remote places of the blue globe. The recent Netflix documentary, «The 14 Eight Thousand: Nothing is Impossible» takes us on a journey that would seem impossible. Mountaineers seek to travel the highest mountains in the world, those that measure more than 8,000 meters and that among the most adventurous explorers are recognized as «the 14 eight thousand».
There are 14 summits that are distributed throughout the Himalayas. The largest peaks in the world that gather the most inaccessible snowy cliffs for humans. Among the most popular is Everest, this imposing mountain is joined by another 13 that are little known in popular culture, but among climbers they are crowned as the 14 highest mountains in the world and the dream to conquer for every explorer.

Everest
At 8,840 meters, Everest is a legendary peak in the Himalayas. It lies between China and Nepal. In 1953 the first humans reached the top; Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary.
Shisha Pangma
Being the smallest of the 14, the Shisha has a height of 8,027 meters. It is located in the territory of Tibet and has restrictions to be climbed.
broad peak
Known as K3, Broad Peak is 8,051 meters high. It is located on the Pakistani border with China and in 2017, Óscar Cadiach reached the top.
Chogori
Located between China and Pakistan, the Chogori or K2 reaches 8,611 meters in height. It is the second highest in the world, it was first climbed in July 1954 and because people have died it is known as «the wild mountain».
kanchenjunga
Kanchenjunga is the mountain of «the five treasures of the snows» (gold, silver, grain and sacred books). It has 8,586 and ranks as the third highest peak in the world. It is located between India and Nepal.
Lhotse
Between China and Nepal, lies Lhotse, the closest mountain to Everest, which is 8,516 meters high and is accompanied by other peaks known as Lhotse Shar at 8,383 meters and Middle Lhotse at 8,414 meters.
Gasherbrum I
This mountain is known as the Hidden Peak. It is located between Pakistan and China, accompanying his sister Gasherbrum II. This mountain has some 8,068 meters and in 2013 the climbers Abel Alonso, Xebi Gómez and Álvaro Paredes reached the summit.
Gasherbrum II
On the border of Pakistan and China rises the Gasherbrum II with 8,034 meters. Its name sounds like «beautiful mountain» and it is that getting lost in the whiteness of its peaks is really wonderful.
Makalu
Almost imitating a pyramid, Makalu rises to 8,463 meters and is considered one of the most inaccessible peaks in the world. This is located between the border of Nepal and China and was first climbed in 1955.
Dhaulagiri I
At 8,167 meters high, Dhaulagirí is the seventh highest peak in the world and the most dangerous of the 14 eight-thousanders.
nanga parbat
The “naked mountain” or “killer mountain” is about 8,126 meters high and has claimed the lives of 64 people.
annapurna i
Right in the center of the Himalayas is the “goddess of crops”, the 8,091-meter-high Annapurna I mountain. Due to its composition of ice and snow it is one of the most dangerous.
Manaslu
At 8,163 meters above sea level, Manaslu is the highest mountain in the Lamjung District of Nepal. According to climbers, this mountain is considered the sixth deadliest eight-thousander of the fourteen.
chooyu
The Cho Oyu is the easiest eight thousand on the list. With its 8,201 meters high, several climbers have conquered its summit, but thanks to its structure, it is the sixth highest peak in the world.
