Wheel of the animals, the origin of the zodiac goes back more than 4000 years, in the times of Ancient Macedonia, Babylon and Assyria. A way of responding to the unknown, the zodiac is born as a wheel of animals that moves slightly over time, and is divided into 12 equal parts. The zodiac has different variants, the most popular being the western and the eastern, or also called the Chinese zodiac.
Each section of the zodiac comes to be a reference to each zodiacal sign, established according to the constellations that bear the same name, therefore, each given sign has a respective constellation that covers a specific area within that same sphere.
The trajectory of the zodiacal sphere is based according to the Sun, the Moon and the planets, having an advance according to each month of the passing year. Since ancient Babylon, and ancient Greece, it was believed that each sector represents a section of the sky, having a delimited frame of 30 degrees in its arc.
According to each culture, the zodiac acquires a variable importance. In Western culture it is known as the tropical zodiac. Formed by thirteen or fourteen constellations, derived in twelve signs. In the West there is a belief that each sign has certain characteristics in its structure that influence the personality and the near future of each person.
The astronomer Claudius Ptolemy was the first to describe the twelve rulers of this western zodiac, which are Arieslocated from March 21 to April 20; Taurus, located from April 21 to May 20; Gemini, located from May 21 to June 21; Cancer, located from June 22 to July 22; Leo, located from July 23 to August 22; Virgolocated from August 23 to September 21; Poundlocated from September 22 to October 22; scorpio, located from October 23 to November 21; Sagittariusfrom November 22 to December 20; Capricorn, located December 21 to January 19; Aquarium, located from January 20 to February 18; and finally, Pisces, from February 19 to March 20.
