The amazing transparent head octopus (a naked marine structure)

It is intrinsic to humanity to have the spirit of curiosity. We wonder where we came from and where we are going. But also what is beyond the clouds, in the cosmic universe and also in the immense depth of the sea. There in the mysterious depths an underwater photographer came across an amazing transparent octopus and the images portray a singular beauty.

Wu Yung-Sen is one of those who wants to discover the mysteries that the ocean holds. To do so, he dons his diving suit, grabs his underwater photography gear, and sets off on adventures few get the chance to experience. Thanks to his work, as well as that of the underwater divers, we can appreciate the amazing photographs of the world that lies below.

Drawn by the mystery Yung-Sen has been submerged for four years in black and icy waters to capture marine life with his magical shots. What his eyes have seen is impressive, although he points out that in a recent dive, in black water and unable to see the bottom, he came face to face with an octopus larva wunderpus.

The image captured by the underwater photographer is so amazing that it seems taken outside this planet. A delicate and transparent baby octopus whose bright red brain can even be seen as if it were encased in an air bubble.

The Wunderpus octopus is an animal that has been rarely studied and sighted. It was first officially described by biologists in 2006 and very little research exists on this species. They are known to live in the Pacific Ocean coastal waters of the southern Philippines. When they grow up, they turn a rusty red color with white spots and to escape their predators, they are able to contort themselves to imitate other marine creatures such as the spiny lionfish.

However, when the octopuses of this species have a short life time, they are rather translucent larvae. The specimen captured by Yung-Sen is clearly in this life cycle.

The techniques used by blackwater divers are very special. They usually board a boat and go into the open sea until they exceed two kilometers. Then the show comes on, the lights go out and the divers descend into the black water depths in total darkness.

They remain tied to the boat for their safety, although that does not limit them to descend to depths that reach 50 meters. Thus, they wait for the sea creatures to make their appearance only under the dim light of a flashlight. The show begins and in the best of cases they meet ineffable creatures, like on this occasion the encounter between Yung-Sen and the octopus Transparent wunderpus.
