The 3 best XXL kennels for large dogs in the 2023 test

Then you are exactly right with this article, because here I explain which models in the year 2023 are particularly recommended and what you should pay attention to.

To find out which products are the best, I researched intensively for more than 10 hours in total. In the end, three models remained that particularly impressed me. Also included is my favorite, the Kerbl kennel XXL.

The hut is 100cm long, 88cm wide and 99cm high. The XXL kennel offers significantly more space than its smaller equivalent and is therefore also suitable for very large dogs.

As with the other Kerbl kennels, this product also stands on height-adjustable plastic feet that ensure stability and prevent the kennel floor from being permanently exposed to moisture.

For particularly cold or wet days, you can also put special insulation inserts in the hut. These are made of stable polyester and are filled with foam.

What do you need a kennel for?

A kennel XXL is an important retreat for your dog. Your four-legged friend should learn that he is safe and can relax in this place, then he will be happy to retire to his box.

A kennel is therefore a beautiful thing for indoors and outdoors. That way the dog doesn’t get in the way and always has a quiet place of its own.

For guard dogs that spend the nights outside, such as German Shepherds, kennels are a protective place where they can retreat even in inclement weather.

For outdoor use, you should therefore make sure that the XXL doghouse is weatherproof and creates good conditions in both summer and winter.

If your dog likes to relax in the sun on warmer days, a dog house with a terrace can make sense for him.

Conclusion – Which kennel XXL convinced and why?

In my test, the Kerbl kennel XXL convinced me the most. It is made of sturdy wood, making it a long-lasting investment.

Wood cannot be destroyed by dogs with claws and teeth as easily as plastic and is therefore my favorite material despite the higher weight and more complex cleaning.
