Petsfit solid wood kennel
The Petsfit kennel is divided into two. One part is a closed house. A window and an entrance offer the dog a little view. In this part the dog can retreat and enjoy its peace and quiet.
The second part is an open, covered terrace. Your dog can lie there and observe everything without being at the mercy of the weather.
The kennel is sealed all around with a protective coating. This offers your four-legged friend protection from rain, snow and wind. The double bottom, together with the raised feet, ensures that it never gets too cold and damp from below. A sloping asphalt roof protects from above.
The dog house with terrace was made of solid wood and fitted with stainless steel fittings. All materials are extremely durable and stable, so you and your darling can enjoy the hut for a long time.
It is also practical that the second shelf can be removed. This, together with the upper opening of the hut, makes cleaning much easier.
Thanks to the raised, adjustable feet, the hut can also be set up stably on uneven ground.
The required holes have already been pre-drilled so that assembly can be carried out quickly and easily.
SAUERLAND dog kennel made of solid wood
The first product in my test is a solid wood dog house from Sauerland. The hut looks like a miniature house for people. The dog can decide for himself whether he wants to be left alone inside the hut or whether he wants to keep an eye on everything on the spacious, covered veranda.
Both the roof of the house and the roofing of the terrace are protected with roofing felt. So the weather cannot harm your four-legged friend. The dog villa is made of a solid pine wood from Finland.
A PVC curtain at the entrance ensures that drafts do not come into the hut. So that it doesn’t get too cold in winter, the hut is completely insulated with Styrofoam on the walls, roof and floor.
A rear door facilitates access and cleaning.

Kerbl kennel with terrace
The dog kennel from Kerbl is made of glazed pine wood. This is very stable and durable. The weatherproof bitumen roof reliably keeps the weather out and protects your darling from wind, rain and snow. The plastic feet ensure that the hut does not stand directly on the ground and thus gets too cold.
As a boundary to the outside, the entrance to the kennel is provided with a slatted curtain that keeps out draughts.
The assembly is very easy thanks to the included, understandable instructions.
Unlike the other two products tested, the terrace on the Kerbl kennel is not covered. Due to the elevated position, the dog is protected from moisture and cold from below, but is exposed to the weather.

Why do you need a kennel with a patio?
A kennel with a terrace is not a must, but it allows your dog to live a more self-determined and comfortable life. A sheltered retreat is ideal, especially if your four-legged friend spends a lot of time outside.
Many dogs want to protect themselves from the sun, rain, snow or wind, but sometimes do without it because they don’t want to miss anything. Even kennels with windows and spacious entrances offer the dog a much smaller overview.
A terrace in front of the cottage can change that. Especially if the terrace is covered, the dog can shelter without missing anything. Nevertheless, he always has his place of retreat in the hut, where he can withdraw when he wants to have peace.
Because the dog has more space when it can use the hut and terrace, I also find a dog house an ideal alternative to some XXL dog houses.

Conclusion
A kennel with a terrace is particularly practical because the dog can choose where he prefers to stay. The four-legged friend finds peace and quiet in the hut and can withdraw. On the terrace, on the other hand, the dog has everything in view, but is still protected from the weather.
In my test, the Petsfit dog house made of solid wood convinced me the most. The hut is made of stable and durable materials. The double floor, a protective coating, height-adjustable feet and an asphalt roof protect the dog from the weather. Both assembly and cleaning are easy to do and can even be done by laypersons without any problems.
The value for money is very fair.
Of course you can also build your own kennel with a terrace, but for me personally the price and performance of Petsfit are ideal.
