Suzane Von Richthofen: the crime that shocked Brazil

1) Born in 1983 into an upper middle class family in São Paulo, daughter of a psychologist (Marísia) with an engineer (Manfred), suzanne he lived a normal childhood and received an excellent education at home and in the schools he attended. At the time of the crime, he was studying law at PUC-SP.

two) In 1999, interest in model airplanes of his brother, Andreas, approached suzanne by Daniel Cravinhos, who also had this hobby. At first, Manfred and Marísia didn’t bother, imagining that the relationship would be fleeting.

3) Daniel’s obsessive behavior, in addition to the loans and gifts he received from suzanne, began to worry the girl’s parents. Her boyfriend’s bad influence was evident when she started taking drugs with marijuana, ecstasy, ether and cola. Manfred and Marísia prohibited dating in May 2002.

4) On the morning of October 31st, suzanne he led Daniel and his brother-in-law, Cristian, to his parents’ bedroom, turned on the light and went down to the library. The Cravinhos brothers attacked the couple with iron bars – Marísia resisted and was suffocated with a towel. Manfred’s revolver was placed next to her body.

5) suzanne stayed in the library during execution. She helped collect the bloody bars and showed no blood by spreading documents around the room (to simulate a robbery). With the help of the Cravinhos, she broke into a father’s suitcase, to take R$ 8 thousand and US$ 5 thousand that were in it.

6) After leaving Cristian near his house, the lovers went to a motel, in an attempt to forge an alibi for the night of the murder. Later, with brother Andreas, suzanne she pretends to be surprised when she finds out about the supposed robbery and calls Daniel asking for help.

7) After simulating suffering at the funeral of his parents, suzanne confessed to the crime and was arrested with the Cravinhos. The back-and-forth in prison began in June 2005, when she was released by the Superior Court of Justice. the girl gave tv interview, vacationed on the coast of São Paulo and was arrested again in April 2006.

WHAT END DID IT TAKE? suzanne and Cravinhos were sentenced, in July 2006, to around 39 years in prison, each. As it was a heinous crime, appeals after conviction were denied.
