Baby squirrels are born from January to September. They stay with their parents for up to four months. Squirrel parents often have to travel long distances to find food for their offspring. Squirrels in distress seek closeness to humans
Unlike other wild animals, squirrels seek close proximity to humans in emergency situations. They run after walkers, sometimes even clinging to them. This is neither aggressive behavior nor a sign of disease! It’s just a cry for help from the little squirrel. If a young animal draws attention to itself in this way, you should never ignore it.
