The chief of the board died at 56 years of a cardiac arrest while he slept, the Vallenato artist, perhaps the greatest of this folkloreled a life that passed “between pleasure and pain”who had his glory days and dark days, leaves a great legacy and at the same time a void in the hearts of his followers.
Díaz is considered one of the greatest exponents of vallenato despite having been involved in multiple scandals for drug use and legal confrontations.
Author of countless successes among which can be counted: Three songs, Pretty, My first gray hair, Without you, Without measuring distances, You are the queen, Everything is for you, El Jean, Ready for the photo, Gladly, Quiubo Lindaamong others.
The singer was admitted to a hospital in the capital of Cesar and died around 6 in the afternoon on Sunday, December 22, although everything indicates that since he was found at home he had no vital signs.
This was not the first time that his health was complicated. In June of this year, the singer had to undergo emergency surgery and his prognosis was reserved for several days. At the end of 2012 Díaz was interned in the Shaio clinic in Bogota as a result of a car accident.
The news of the death of ‘Cacique’ It took both his family and his followers by surprise. A few days ago the vallenato singer-songwriter was happy because he had overcome some health problems and was ready to launch his new record work. So he did them last Thursday and his fans received the work The Artist’s Life, which was recorded between Bogotá and Valledupar.
With that, Diomedes, who at times was complicated in terms of health during 2013, felt that with this work he would close with ‘gold clasp’ a difficult year. The new work was accompanied by the accordion player Alvaro Lopez.
