Ingredients

  • 1 liter of milk (whole if you prefer)
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla essence
  • 1 and 1/2 cups of sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons of water

Preparation

Step 1. Prepare caramel

The first thing is to heat a pan over medium high heat, and add there 1 cup of sugar and the two tablespoons of water. You must move the pan gently so that the sugar melts. Once the mixture has taken on the color and consistency of caramel, remove it from the heat and pour it immediately into a container (clearly one that can withstand the oven).

Step 2. Mix

Now take the glass of the blender and put in there the 6 eggs, 1/2 cup of sugar and the liter of milk. Beat until you get a homogeneous mixture and add the vanilla essence (you could also do it by hand). Later, pour this content into the container in which you are going to bake it. Take it to the oven, which must be preheated to 170ºC and leave it there at that same temperature for 40 minutes, or until it has taken consistency and there is no liquid inside (better said, until it sets).

Step 3. Reserve and serve

Once the roasted milk comes out of the oven, reserve it in your fridge for about 3 hours or so or until it has a smooth but compact consistency. Once it is like this, it will be time to unmold it or simply cut it into the container and serve. Remember to always present it with the bottom up (because that’s where the candy will be). Bon Appetite.
