Ingredients

  • a pound of quinoa
  • 250g instant oatmeal
  • A tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 liter of water or vegetable broth
  • 2 tablespoons of wholemeal flour
  • a big onion
  • A red or green bell pepper
  • A garlic clove
  • 2 eggs
  • A teaspoon of grated ginger
  • 25g ground sesame or sesame seeds
  • sea ​​salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

Step 1: Wash the Quinoa

Place the quinoa in a container and wash it very well with enough water; let it drain

Note: Quinoa must be washed very well, since it contains saponin, which is a bitter and toxic substance for the circulatory system.

Step 2: Cook the quinoa

In a pot, place the water or vegetable broth together with the quinoa over medium heat for 20 to 25 minutes, until the quinoa is very dry.

Step 3: Mix the rest of the ingredients

Add the other ingredients to the pot: the wholemeal flour, the onion, the paprika, the garlic, the eggs, the sea salt to taste and the sesame or sesame seeds (ground); Proceed to mix all the ingredients very well.

Step 4: Mix the instant oatmeal with the salt

In shallow bowl, mix instant oatmeal with salt.

Step 5: Assemble the Burgers

Make a ball with the quinoa dough and pass it through the mixture that you prepared in the previous step; Proceed to assemble the hamburgers on a flat surface. You can use a mold.

Step 6: Heat the olive oil

Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.

Step 7: Fry the Burgers

When the oil is hot, place the burgers to fry in the pan; Put a lid on and fry each side for two minutes without lowering the heat.

Step 8: Prepare and Serve the Burgers

Prepare the burgers to your liking. We advise you to use whole wheat bread, vegetables and soy cheese.
