It is not a secret that science has shown that there are plant skills that humans cannot see with the naked eye. The plant kingdom seems to be immobile, but we know it: they are living beings. And although they cannot establish communication with us, as a dog could for example through its gestures and its learned movements, the truth is that plants are much more sensitive than we have come to believe.
Science has proven that plants are capable of hearing, remembering and even thinking. But now, a recent study found how, in addition to hearing, plants are also capable of making sounds. The research, published in bioRxiv, considers that a plant’s phenotype can be altered by changes around it.

This is not something extraordinary; We know very well that everything that surrounds and makes up an ecosystem changes according to light, temperature, soil structure, etc. But the researchers of the Tel Aviv University they recorded ultrasonic sounds coming from the plants that were not comfortable.
This discovery made it clear that the stressed plants they emitted different sounds that carried information about the state in which they were. The acoustic box in which the plants were allowed to recognize the sound of each one of them.
But how do they communicate if they can’t talk?
Everything is through the water bubbles; a process recognized as cavitation explains how air bubbles in plants explode inside them producing great stress melodies. Listening to nature has never been so real and this connection with plants could be the beginning of something extraordinary, as it allows us to know how they are, if they are happy or if they need something. The science it can reveal what is in the background and make it tangible.
Everything in plants is language, and this is a way of communicating and preaching the depths of his feelings. The world is inhabited by many forms and beings with different capacities: we use words, others use roars and many others use ultrasonic sounds. But it is up to us whether we want to listen or not.
