Plants can pose a threat to pets. Depending on factors such as the type of plant, the concentration of the poison, the amount eaten, the health of the animal and its size, the risk of poisoning can range from low to extremely high. The effects of poisoning on the animal can include nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, but also more serious symptoms such as shortness of breath and abnormal heart rhythms. In extreme cases, eating a poisonous plant can even be fatal.
The following are examples of some plants that can harm your pet’s health if they eat or even nibble on them. Please note that these are only examples and not a complete list.
