Photograph shows the fantastic anatomy of a whale shark

It is not a mystery that captivating beings inhabit the oceans; from gentle humpback whales to fish of the dark. In the waters of the planet everything can be found, even whale sharks. Standing out for its enormous size that impresses anyone, the whale shark is one of the friendliest species that sails the seas around the world. As a sample of his character is the incredible image captured by the Italian photographer Simone Caprodossi, who managed to capture an image of the whale shark’s anatomy.

Approaching just a few centimeters from this enormous species, Caprodossi managed to immortalize an extraordinary close-up of the gills of this shark. This is the largest fish that exists on the planet and can reach up to 12 meters in length. It is a unique species that shares its enormous size with whales, but actually belongs to the shark family.

For 10 years, Caprodossi has sought to show the amazing world that hides below the surface. With unique shots of various marine species, the photographer shows that we still know very little about those beings that live in the deep ocean. Some exceptional features are revealed in the pictures. For example, the inside of the gills of the whale shark and its peculiar spots that are like fingerprints.

A unique image about the whale shark

During her career as an underwater photographer, Simone Caprodossi managed to create a collection of images of whale sharks. These collections captured in the warm waters of places like Qatar and Djibouti reveal that it is one of her favorite species due to its enormous size.

In the area where the photographs were taken, the youngest specimens come together every year to reproduce. An oasis of life explodes in that area, but nearby there are human settlements, which represents a risk to the continuity of the species.

The author hopes that the image of the whale shark anatomy will help to reverse the myth that sharks are dangerous. In addition, that it contributes to the species leaving its status as a threatened species. Also, he believes that fish are actually at risk due to human activity. Sharks are often injured by boats in the region.

Through his Instagram account, Caprodossi shares the images of animals that he has gathered during more than ten years of expeditions and that seem to have been taken from another planet. Once again we are fortunate to admire these giants of the oceans up close and with gentle respect, and it is wonderful.
