A love story for ceramics

Perla Valtierra has always made her own language, Therefore and to improve his own technique he traveled to various parts of the world. Thus he arrived in Japan – a country with a ceramist tradition – and understood new cooking and clay development techniques, which for Japanese experts were part of their process. Thus, after an exhausted research, he brought his knowledge to the Mexican mud and resulted in a completely new technique in the territory: expose it to high temperatures.

But, when finding this special technique, the ceramist joined the teacher Don Jesús Torres, one of the last turners of the Bajío, an area known for his pottery. Then, between the traditional forms of artisanal production and the finding of Valtierra, a new creative process was born that, since 2016, has incorporated colors, elements, designs and above all, meanings.
