«We take more than two years to find this house,» Wandler explains. «After a while it is like going to the supermarket, you have a lot to choose from and every day your wishes increase.» The first question asked Elza and her husband Joost Doeswijk was: «Do we want to buy a house in Amsterdam or the outskirts of the city?» In the end they capitulated and bought an apartment that had two characteristics that wanted absolutely: high ceilings (about 3.20 meters) and the garden. For everything else, they decided they would wait. «Although the cost was higher than our initial budget and it was not a period house, which made it less attractive, we thought that at least it was not crooked, it stood out more above than below; in addition to the size – about 100 square meters -, the Distribution in two floorshe outer space And a practically private entrance were requirements that we would not find again in the city, at least not all at once. «The designer decided that she would be her dwelling, step by step. It will become the family nest that will house her, her husband and two dogs, the puppy ben Dries van Notten.
