On average, how many eyelashes does a person have?

(Juliana Caro/Marcos de Lima/)

Each eyelid has, on average, 100 to 150 eyelashes, which have an average length of 10 mm. The daily average growth of each strand is 0.16 mm and we lose about five strands per day – however, as eyelashes are constantly growing, the fall is not usually noticed. Oh, and if you notice the lack of eyelashes, see a doctor: the main cause of accelerated fall may be the lack of vitamins and proteins.
