Nicholas Symmes review: Motorola Razr 2020

I have always said that old phones had that mystique that we all loved. It is that those innovations that we saw are no longer found anywhere, where in recent years we had only had large phones, small ones and with tremendously improved cameras. But this year despite the pandemic, we have 3 great novelties: Samsung with its two folding models (Fold and Flip), and Motorola with the return of a super classic of classics: Motorola Razr, but this time with the folding screen.

I want to start by saying that when I heard the news of the return of this team, I felt a special joy because the phone was beautiful in those years, something that we can undoubtedly continue to admire today.

The flip phone arrived 5 days ago and I have used it quite a bit. In fact, I think it is an entertaining phone with interesting proposals.

Let’s start with your screen, which is a panel 6.2-inch OLEDwith a resolution of 2,142×876 pixels. On the other hand, the external screen is 2.7 inches (OLED), protected with glass Gorillas Glass and with a resolution of 600×800 pixels. I find the screen works fine, has good resolution, and it’s nice to have that other panel when you’re closed. We can notice that the engineers of Motorcycle they created a good alternative to fold without problems.

As for the design, it comes with an elegant and quite solid aluminum body, without being as big as the original from those years. In fact, the low back is made of plastic and allows you to hold it safely. As for where the external screen, the main camera and other sensors are located, it comes with glass Gorilla Glass 3D.

I must be honest with you that the folding one works well, but I lacked the option of leaving it half open at 90 degrees, something that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip promotes a lot in its equipment, which even allows you to take photos with the phone in that alternative . Obviously it is not something serious, but I think that having a folding phone comes with those kinds of differences compared to a traditional device.

They will wonder how it is possible to bend the cell phone, and Motorola developed a hinge that comes with different metal plates, springs and even magnets, which allow the screen to move and bend without breaking. In this way, Moto’s friends managed to close the phone flat and fit perfectly with almost no space between the two parts.

Another point that I wanted to highlight is how complex it is to open the phone, because it is not to reach and open it with one hand, but you will need both to activate it. This item is obviously customary, but since we are in a fast society, it generates some noise for me.

The photograph item comes equipped with a camera in front and one behind, like in the old school. We can find 20 megapixels for the front camera Y 48 megapixels for the rear camerawhich includes mechanical rear-lens image stabilization (OIS) and laser autofocus.

In my opinion, I think that it lacks power in terms of photography, because the rear camera, despite the fact that the resolution is high, in low light conditions, the photography lowers its quality quite a bit. The front camera fulfills its role of selfies well to upload to our social networks.

As for the processor, we find the Snapdragon 710, accompanied by 6GB of RAM, which allows you to navigate without problems within the phone’s options.

Finally, we have 2,510mAh, which exceeded my expectations, because despite having little capacity, I managed to make it last all day without problems.

In short, I think it’s an interesting team, very similar to Original Razr released in 2004, obviously adapted to the current market. I like that trend of bringing teams back… Which team do you think should be brought back? I bet on the Nokia NGage Qd which was impressive.
