Naked cyclists in Mexico City, a peculiar way to raise awareness

In Mexico City, thousands of cyclists stripped naked to attract attention in an attempt to raise awareness about the importance of replacing the use of cars with bicycles.

This movement originated in Canada and takes place every year in various cities around the world.

Organizers also said that riding bikes naked highlights the fragility of the human body and the need for motorists to be more careful when driving.

The caravan of naked cyclists went through several important ones in the city and ended the tour in the Zócalo square.

The Mexican cyclists affirm that although in the city there are already several policies in favor of cyclists and little more than infrastructure, motorists continue to make cycling a feat.

A cyclist named Mila said that getting naked was a good way to send the message: “In Mexico it is a nightmare to ride a bicycle. It’s almost as if you don’t exist, you’re like a ghost.»

It is estimated that 300 cyclists were part of this event.
