Joh Vinding, Chair of the Fur Free Alliance, says: “We welcome Moncler’s decision to turn its back on the cruel fur trade. It’s becoming increasingly clear that today’s consumers and brands want nothing to do with the appalling suffering of animals used in fur fashion.”
Simone Pavesi, LAV campaign manager for cruelty-free fashion, adds: “LAV applauds Moncler for the responsible decision to permanently eliminate animal fur from its collections. Our engagement with Moncler and all fashion companies continues towards new goals for more sustainable fashion and for the protection of animals.”
So far, more than 1,500 brands worldwide have spoken out against fur fashion and joined the international Fur Free Retailer program. By doing without fur fashion, they are sending a clear signal that fur is inevitably a thing of the past. Moncler joins a growing international list of brands that have pledged to ban fur from their collections, including Armani, Gucci, Prada and the world’s leading online luxury fashion retailer, Yoox Net-a-Porter.
