1. An exotic kitchen with hand -painted tiles

That the Italian designer Edgardo Osorio has a weakness for the fruit not only is demonstrated by the logo of his Aquazzura shoe brand (it represents a pineapple), but also the kitchen of his Venetian department in the San Marcos neighborhood. Along with the manufacturer Officine Gullo, whose Modern kitchens They are manufactured in Italy as well as Osorio shoes, has created a stainless steel dream in pastel turquoise. The highlight: the color tone continues on the walls, populated with colorful fruit trees, flowers and exotic animals. The hand -painted garden scene is inspired by botanical drawings of the 18th century. A kitchen almost without windows becomes an aired pergola.

The shoes designer wanted to create in his kitchen the atmosphere of a greenhouse, in which the different stations were recognized next to plants and animals.

2. Bohemia kitchen: light oak and white stone

For his new home on the outskirts of Madrid, Beatriz Aznar wanted an oasis of peace and harmony in which family life and his passion for art had the same prominence. To realize this idea, the Spanish artist, who has recently spent several years in the United States, had the help of her good friend and Product and Interior Designer Marta Labrador, known beyond the Madrid borders for her Elegant, timeless and Mediterranean style. In Beatriz's house, I wanted to «have a lot of elements» and insufflate personality and history to the rooms. In the kitchen, he achieved it mainly through the use of Natural materials Like the oak, the white stone, the crystal and the rattan. The chosen color palette, of light and warm tones, is accentuated by the abundant natural light that enters inside the ground floor thanks to four balconies. For the kitchen to be familiar, the elongated space has been skillfully divided: on the short side is the row of oak cabinets, including oven and plate, which offers a huge amount of storage space thanks to the high glass furniture, but little work surface. The island of stone in the center of the room was designed to be even more spacious, so that the whole family can help cook and nobody steps on. It not only serves as an enlarged work surface, but also as a place to sit.

As on the short side of the elongated room there is only room for a small row, the work surface was skillfully expanded with a generous white island.

3. A lot of patina and colored tiles in this industrial kitchen

The Berlin Karhard de Beelitz (Brandeburg) study shows that a fireplace also looks good in the kitchen. But the high gray brick stove is not the only unusual of this project, since the department of about 180 square meters was part of the Beelitz-Heilstoteten Sanatorium before its conversion. At that time they are the edge vault, the striking tiles of the ground and the remains of paint of the walls, which have complemented with a matching color bank and green chairs. The iridescent pink front wall offers a striking contrast: at the request of the owner, a color degraded was created with iridescent tiles, which provides a fresh backdrop to the two dark industrial -looking kitchen furniture.

Studio Karhard has created an unconventional industrial kitchen at the facilities of an old Beelitz sanatorium.

4. A kitchen as a work of art

This modern kitchenlocated in a residential building of 1890 in the Muniqués neighborhood of Schwabing, it is anything less common and exactly what the resident wanted. Linn – as the brave client is called – is a collector and art lover and wanted «a kitchen that was not only functional, but also a work of art in which you could live.» This unusual desire arose after he visited Charlotte Dualé in Berlin and fell immediately in love with his kitchen. The sculptor, who says she works above all with ceramics, has French roots and was inspired by them to design her own kitchen. «I thought I could do my own tiles, inspired by Traditional countertops from southern France, like those of my family's house, «explains Charlotte. A big and important difference: their tiles are not only beautiful, but also have functions. And for the» Linn cuisine » – official name of Schwabing's kitchen -, the Designer Not only did it developed tiles for the cascade countertop, but also numerous and practical hooks and supports for kitchen spoons or other kitchen utensils, located on both sides of the short row. Charlotte even integrated robust subjects directly into the dark green shelf, so that Linn's kitchen books also have a fixed place. But not all handmade elements and shapes were planned and agreed with the client from the beginning. On the contrary. The hand of the left – a copy of Charlotte's hand – was created spontaneously during the creative process and allowed himself to stay «because he is very pretty.»

Charlotte Dualé is actually sculptor. His first «tile project» was his own kitchen in Berlin, which followed other private departments, a bookstore in Berlin and, finally, the Linn cuisine in Schwabing.

5. WOOD AMERICAN KITCHEN

Tiles on tiles: In this six -storey corner building in the New York neighborhood of East Village, the little and bright ceramic tiles play a fundamental role. Its importance is evident as soon as you enter the lobby, where «as in the upper halls – the original mosaics of the construction era, at the beginning of the 20th century, they continue to adorn the soil and the walls. An aspect that the GRT Architects designers also resumed for the kitchen of one of the floors: they covered the floor, the dashboard and even the island with tiles of different colors and formats. The island of the kitchen stands out especially for its intense burgundy color and looks like a sculpture thanks to the ceramic coating. The soil is also designed with art and visually separates the cooking area from the rest of the room. And not to unnecessarily interrupt the design of Damero of White and Mostaza Tiles, some of the oak cabinets have become float with the help of brass legs, an intelligent solution that also creates more lightness in the semi -open kitchen.

Small format tiles cover the ground, the splashes and island protector; A lovely detail: the colored joints.

6. A green and bright oasis in the center of New York

«Minimalist, but warm»: that is what this young family of Brooklyn wanted for the cuisine of the center of her traditional reddish stone duplex. The open shelves offer a lot of storage space, the different seats invite family members and guests to stay, light wood and dusty gray tones create a relaxed backdrop for lots and lots of plants. Is a kitchen only for cooking? Not at all.
