A little history

The origin of Mexican Aviation dates back to 1921, when this airline opened its First route from Mexico City to Tampico To support oil companies in the transfer of documents and payrolls, also innovating with the email and aerial photo service.

However, what led this airline to the international level was its acquisition in 1929 by Pan American Airways, opening new routes to connect the United States, Mexico and Guatemala for the first time in history.

Despite being in bankruptcy, in the sixties Mexican Aviation was the first airline to offer jet service in Mexico, between Mexico City and Los Angeles, in addition to positioning itself as the largest airline in Latin America thanks to its acquisition by Crescencio Ballesteros in 1968.

The fall of Mexican Aviation

In the 1980s, the Mexican government acquired 54% of Mexican aviation, but in 1993 Aeromexico acquired part of the airline. After crisis and bad handling, it had to be rescued again by the Government through the Cintra company.
