Given the serious acts of violencea, presumably perpetrated mostly by agents of the National Police and ESMAD against the demonstrators who have taken to the streets during the marches that have taken place in recent days as part of the National Strike, one of the soldiers decided to withdraw from the institution.
The young former patrolman stated through his social networks that he will not continue to be part of the National Police force because although that was his dream, he disagrees with the government.
“I give up this that was my dream to wear the olive green uniform. Why my vocation was to serve the country but with everything that is seen today. It disgusts me, something that is apolitical serving politicians (…) It was my dream to be a police officer and today I give up that dream whoever is a patrolman, corporal, sergeant, etc. understands that those «Gamines» are also fighting for their rights. I say no to reforms. And I say no to the government.”

Likewise, Denilson Scott Gonzalez He affirmed that the real objective of the institution is to take care of the integrity of civilians in the territory, but not to violate the rights of those who fight in the streets.
“This was created for the people. To safeguard the security of Colombians. Not to massacre those who fight for the same rights that the uniformed men have and they are going to take them away with those reforms.”
