It is very common that in the «checheres» or San Alejo room, we keep things that may not have any use or instead, be of great sentimental value. Well, if you haven’t checked among those things that you no longer use, we recommend you take a look, don’t go and be that you find a relic that surprises you at times when you really need it.

That was precisely what happened to a man who, in one of the reviews he was doing among the many things he had stored, found an alarm clock forgotten in a box that contained the voice of his deceased mother, and that accompanied him throughout the entire your stay at the university.

Man finds alarm clock with voice of his deceased mother

Ed Morrish, British comedy producer, is the protagonist of the story. During a routine cleaning day in his garage, he discovered a true relic: an alarm clock that his mother gave him 23 years ago, and that has his voice recorded on it.

His mother, Christine Morrish, passed away in 2006 and this is the only way for Ed to remember her voice, so the find brought back fond memories. This watch with the voice of Christine, accompanied the then young man throughout his time at the University of Manchester in 1998. The recording with the message of «Get up Edward» he used it to get up every morning at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, then a further 2 years in London and 8 years in Harrow.

When asked by the PA Media agency about this curious finding, Morrish said:

“I wasn’t surprised, really; I knew what it was as soon as I took the box out, so I was glad it still worked. I loved remembering her voice and laughed of course because it was such a ridiculous thing for her to record”

Such was the media impact of this story, that thanks to the trill, Tom Lawton, creator of the watch, responded by saying that WakeYoo was his first invention:

«Oh God! This is amazing Ed.»
