Madonna, Emma Watson and others who dress as men

Today International Men’s Day is celebrated almost everywhere in the world, that’s why we present a masculine trend: women dressed like them.

Is about women dressed in masculine suits. Now we know them as Female Dandyand in the 1920s it was very common for them to work as hostess or ushers in the bars and restaurants where alcohol was served in the midst of North American prohibition, wearing a tuxedo or tails; some authors locate its origins in the London gangs of the 19th century.

This trend was brought to light by the actress and singer Marlene Dietrich, perhaps the first celebrity to wear this type of clothing in the movies; she donned a top hat, tuxedo and white bow tie to play cabaret singer Amy Jolly in Morocco (1930). So dressing up in menswear is an older fad than stars like Madonna and Emma Watson would have us believe.

Later, in the 1960s, the designer Yves Saint Laurent brought out his version of the tuxedo for women inspired by the androgynous French artist Niki de Saint Phalle, on the left in the following image.

Today, for a woman to dress as a man is no longer provocative, and on the contrary, it is a trend assimilated by fashion houses and ordinary people. See below a gallery of celebrities, from Madonna to Emma Watson, who have dazzled by dressing like themand dare!
