The position of the cosmic spheres is not always the same, taking into account that the Earth never stops and is in a constant dance through space, the perspective we have of the stars is always different. And although it may border on the poetic rather than the scientific, knowing what the cosmos reveals to us on special dates is sublime information that makes us feel closer to the magic of the Universe. With this in mind, NASA has launched a tool to observe the photo that the Hubble Space Telescope captured just on your birthday.
Since it was launched into orbit by NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA) in 1990, the Hubble Space Telescope has been monitoring the skies. With a consolidated trajectory of astronomical observation, Hubble was positioned at the time as the best telescope that humanity has put into operation. Today the melancholy comes to us as a new successor is preparing to take the title of the most powerful space telescope and Hubble will soon find its rest.
However, it is a fact that during years and years of service, the cosmic observer has gifted us with thousands and thousands of epic photographs of the Universe. Exceptional images that have given us the opportunity to look beyond what our limited sight allows us, a window to the unknown. And now NASA is sharing part of this cosmic magic with us through an online tool.
How to see the photo captured on your birthday?
Through its official site, NASA allows you to look at the photograph that Hubble captured exactly on your birthday. To access these impressive photographs, you only have to enter What did Hubble see on your birthday?, where a box will appear with two options, one to select the month of your birth and another to choose the day. Finish by touching the red ‘submit’ button and suddenly the photograph captured by Hubble on that special date will appear.
The page also offers a brief explanation of what exactly you’re looking at. Perhaps groups of galaxies, stars, nebulae or all kinds of objects that roam the cosmos may appear before your eyes. A way to keep in connection with the Universe and its wonders.
