In 1946, Bo Bardi leaves Europe permanently and sets in Brazil With her husband Pietro María Bardiwhere he developed his most significant works and continued with his premise to humanize architecture, this time from the mixture between the art and the culture popular who took as the main inspiration and moderncreating an attitude that defined the Brazilian culture of the middle of the century and a distinctive style that even today inspires Latin American architects.

Glass house
Built in 1949, it is the first Lina project in Brazil and the most personal of all. Bo Bardi designed his own house on a mountain in Sao Paulo and it was there that he put into practice the concepts that sought the pairing between the shapethe functionality and the needs of whom these spaces inhabit.
The house tries to adapt to the environment through a minimum architecture, with huge windows that privilege light on a high platform. It is currently the headquarters of the institute that bears his name.
Sao Paulo Art Museum
Designed in 1958, it is the most emblematic project of Lina Bo Bardi and the one that gave it relevance worldwide.
The plant of MASP It rises 8 meters high from the ground and is suspended by huge red blocks, forming a meeting space that serves as square of coexistence and allows the free transit of pedestrians, while granting shadow.
Pompeia Cultural Center
One of his most famous works he could do after escaping from the Brazilian dictatorship is the project to intervene a Old barrel factory and turn it into a center cultural and of leisure.
Bo Bardi decided to keep the concrete structure and starting from it different spaces that today serve as exhibitions, libraries, pools and sports courts, fully transforming the symbolism of a factory into a recreational and enjoyment area, a work according to its concept of using architecture as an effective means to reach the justice social.
