LEARN ABOUT THE CONSTELLATIONS –

Learning about the universe and everything that infinity represents is important to understanding astronomy and astrology. Among its components are what are known as constellations.

Constellations are groups of stars that form an imaginary figure in the night sky, when they can be observed. Each of these constellations receives a name from mythologies, characters in history, animals or objects. These stars are not necessarily close, they can be hundreds of light years apart.

According to the above, the shapes that represent the constellations were created and used for night navigators and desert travelers; in addition, they helped to follow the course of the seasons; all this is because its position in the sky is fixed and unchanging.

It is important to note that signs and constellations are not the same. The signs are a symbolic and archetypal representation that constitutes the astrological zodiac, while the astronomical constellations define the astronomical zodiac.

The importance of the constellations varies according to the season or the hemisphere, since some will be useful or not according to their visibility, although they are of great importance for browsers, since in this way they can know the time of the year without the need for calendars. .

The most important constellation, because it is the most used, is the Big Dipper, since it indicates nothing more and nothing less than the north of the earth. In turn, there is also the Little Bear, although only visible from the northern hemisphere, it has been a recurring constellation for navigators, since its best-known star is the polar star and indicates the geographic North Pole.

Named as the most beautiful in the sky, by fans, is Orion; its position gives it great visibility in both hemispheres, it is observed in the northern hemisphere in winter and in the south during the summer.

Orion is hidden in the west when Scorpio appears in the east, this constellation is among the favorites of astronomers, because the drawing formed by its stars gives it the shape of the scorpion animal, especially the tail; hence its name. It is easily observed in summer in the northern hemisphere and in autumn in the southern one.

When talking about stars, it is significant to highlight the brightest of them, called Sirius, this is located in the constellation known as Can Mayor, hence its importance.

For its part, Cassiopeia, shaped like an M or W depending on the time and hemisphere of observation; It always points north, being very useful when the Big Dipper is not visible. Last but not least, the Southern Cross constellation, present on the flags of Australia, Brazil and New Zealand, because it points to the south pole, so only the southern hemisphere is visible.

The constellations are so useful for both navigators and mountain explorers, so it never hurts to learn about such an impressive and colossal universe, which governs daily events and offers endless possibilities yet to be discovered.
