Know the Latin natural heritage declared by UNESCO

One of the most outstanding characteristics of our planet has to do with its Biological diversitythat is, the immense variety of ecosystems existing in different latitudes, but, in addition, the diversity of microorganisms, fungi, plants and animals that compose them. Through the United Nations Educational, Science and Culture Organization (UNESCO)a series of criteria and actions have been defined to locate and protect those sites of exceptional importance globally.

In its original writing, the UNESCO Cultural and Natural World Heritage Protection Convention (signed in 1972) defines the Natural heritage such as: “Natural monuments constituted by physical and biological formations or by groups of those formations that have an exceptional universal value from the aesthetic or scientific point of view, geological and physiographic formations and strictly delimited areas that constitute the habitat of threatened animal and plant species, that have an exceptional universal value from the aesthetic or scientific point of view. The strictly delimited natural areas, which have an exceptional universal value from the point of view of science, conservation or natural beauty. ”
