Know its advantages and disadvantages –

The long-lasting manicure, as its name says, is «permanent» and is the most durable option. Permanent enamel can be found with different materials: acrylic, porcelain or gel. In all the options we can lock the extension and shape of the nail. This type of product requires drying with UV light to fix the product and achieve greater hardness.

It is applied on our natural nail and the shape and extension are worked according to the client’s taste and then it is enameled with the desired color. Its duration? Well, it is permanent, as the name indicates, the only thing that as the nail grows, we will see its growth. Therefore, every 20/30 days (depending on the speed of growth of our nail) we must go to the salon to work on the manicure. This is the strongest, most durable option with a fantastic look and shine.

Process:

In the beauty center, the first thing they will do is make the enamel porous, first with a file in a gentle way, to remove the shine and create pores. After this, they will prepare your nails and cuticles by applying Vaseline around the nail to protect the skin and cuticles, followed by applying pure acetone. This will be applied by soaking cotton with it and we will prevent it from touching the skin so as not to damage it. To fix it, aluminum foil will be used for at least 15 minutes. Once the necessary time has elapsed, the enamel will be gently rubbed towards the tip.

Once all the enamel has been removed, the nails will be properly hydrated with nourishing oils or moisturizing creams.

And for its removal it is necessary to do it in the center, by a professional and with a lathe, since it is not removed with any type of nail polish remover.

Advantages of permanent enamels

Not only durability is one of the advantages that we will have with permanent manicure, below we summarize most of these advantages:

Permanent manicure is inexpensive:

Contrary to sculpted nails, such as acrylic ones, which have a higher cost; permanent manicure is cheaper. So if you are not a person who bites your nails or has weak nails, permanent manicure will be your best option.

Health in your nails:

This type of manicure does not require extreme preparation of the nail, so it does not require filing of the base of the nail, since the permanent enamel adheres without any problem.

Speed:

You will only have to invest about 45 minutes to show off a perfect manicure in your beauty center.

Impressive and long-lasting shine:

Permanent nail polish will make your nails shine for 2-3 weeks, just like freshly painted.

Express drying:

Fixing this type of permanent enamel requires the use of an LED lamp, thanks to which your nails will be ready for your daily routine from the first moment.

And for its removal it is necessary to do it in the center, by a professional and with a lathe, since it is not removed with any type of nail polish remover. It is advisable to go to the center since if it is removed incorrectly, we can damage the natural nail.

Disadvantages of permanent enamels

– Periodic exposure to ultraviolet light, which is used to dry permanent enamels, is harmful to the skin.

– It has a higher price, compared to traditional or classic enamels.

– Its prolonged use makes the nails thinner and more likely to break.

– A special nail polish remover is required, since with the acetone that we normally use it does not fall off.

– It does not allow the nails to oxygenate properly, causing the nails to weaken in the short term.

Nail care treatment after permanent nail polish

If your nails are already damaged by permanent nail polish, our advice is to avoid the most aggressive manicures for a while, such as gel or acrylic nails, which require very aggressive or filing products to remove them, which can damage your natural nail and weaken it.

Another thing we can do for our nails is to eat a good diet, because yes! What we eat also affects the appearance of our nails. The good thing is that generally what is good for our nails is also usually good for our hair, so you will get a 2×1. Biotin and keratin are key to the health of our nails and you can find them in foods such as eggs, lean meats, oily fish or nuts.

On the other hand, there are specially formulated nail care products on the market, but if you don’t have any of them at your fingertips, you can use almond or jojoba oil. They are perfect allies to keep your hands beautiful and your nails grow strong and healthy as they help nourish the nail and smooth it out and keep it soft.

And remember that you don’t have to give up color on your nails, you can also alternate permanent manicures with long-lasting nail polish.
