It hurts, the new song by Bomba Estéreo

Bomba Estéreo premiered the song and the video as a preview of what will be their fifth studio album, which will be released this year.

The main melody of the song is influenced by Middle East but it was recorded with a millo flute, a typical instrument of the cumbia groups of the Caribbean Region of Colombia. This song was recorded in the town of Minca in the Sierra Nevada, near Santa Marta, the hometown of Liliana Saumetlead singer of Bomba Estéreo.

“The millo flute has been one of the most inspiring instruments of our career,” He says Simon Mejia, founder of the group. “We’ve used it since our first album ‘Estalla’. It has a beautiful and distinctive sound rooted in the traditions of cumbia. I remember playing it for the producer brian eno when I met him and he was like, ‘My God, I’ve never heard such a sound in my life!’”

“Duele” is a song that talks about the process of overcoming a heartbreak and is one of our recommended songs today.
