Yes. The Vatican’s secret archives contain 35,000 volumes, which tell the history of humanity. If its shelves were lined up, they would stretch 84 kilometers. They are records of scientific and geographical discoveries, papal documents and diplomatic correspondence. There are also letters from the artist Michelangelo, papers annulling the marriage of English King Henry VIII and various Inquisition processes, including that of Galileo Galilei.

As in the work of Dan Brown, most of the records belonging to the collection are available to the public, but consultation must be done outside the secret room, which is not open to visitors.
