Yes. But for that, you have to be willing. The thing is, in the Colombian jungle, you’ll run the risk of having unpleasant encounters with drug dealers, ending up in unmarked stretches in the Amazon or being kidnapped by guerrillas.
To avoid these little mishaps, it’s better to “steal” a little: dispatch the car in paradise Cartagena towards Panama. Meanwhile, you board a plane to Panama City, enjoy a beach, and catch your car back in Colón.
Later, new zone of attention. In Mexico, it’s best to head west, avoiding the most troubled areas for drug trafficking. Other than that, the trip is actually easier than you might think. All you need is 17 days off and about BRL 14,000, plus an extra allowance for unexpected events. You will discover beautiful scenery in nine countries, in addition to Brazil.

What to do before driving
1 – The most annoying thing is the US visa (and the passport, of course). At least four months before travel, look into this (other countries do not require a visa).
2 – You need to be vaccinated against yellow fever and have an International Certificate of Vaccination to enter Colombia and Costa Rica, which require the document (see more on this website).
3 – Consult the Detran of your state and acquire the International Driving Permit (PID). The license cannot be suspended or revoked.
4 – If the car for the trip is not paid for, an authorization from the finance company will be required (stamped by all consulates of the countries on the route). That is, it is better to go with a car already paid for.
5 – Inquire at insurance companies about the green card, insurance required to enter Venezuela by car.
6 – If you go in a group, drive 12 hours a day, taking turns every four hours. If you go alone, make stops at the same frequency. Avoid driving at night.
